Stan Parrish, the head football coach for the Ball State, has been relieved of his duties following a second straight losing season, which has also upset the team supporters and NCAA football betting fans.
Following a 2-10 campaign in 2009, this season the Cardinals were just 4-8.
Athletic director Tom Collins said that after a thorough evaluation of the on-field performance and the football program, the management decided that it was time to change the coach. He also said that the management is impressed by the way the quality student-athletes have battled and carried themselves through the challenging season. The management only wished that Coach Parrish would have done a better job.
Parrish was working as the head coach since December 18, 2008, after working as an assistant for four seasons. He led the Cardinals to the GMAC Bowl towards the end of the 2008 season, after being promoted to the top job, when Brady Hoke left and joined the San Diego State.
The team is now looking for a new coach who can help them to improve their position in the betting lines.
