The Spaniard, who is also the World’s No.1, was at his flawless best in the US Open Finale, beating Djokovic 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Nadal was the favorite in terms of tennis sportsbook odds and the 24-year-old lived up to it. He became the 7th player and the youngest to complete a career Grand Slam.
Djokovik, who had a 7-3 hardcourt-record against Nadal heading into the finale, was not at his best in a rain-interrupted match on Monday, committing 47 unforced errors. Nadal, on the other hand, was spot on with his play when it needed the most. He finished with eight aces and had 31 unforced errors.
With this win, Rafael Nadal, who was hot favorite in sportsbook betting, has now become the first player since 1969 to win the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same year.
